An online story from UN OCHA that looks at at the experience of people with a disability during the COVID-19 Pandemic, and how they are disproportionally impacted. It also lays out some basic measures on how to improve this situation, those being

  • Ensure that all COVID-19 information is accessible to everyone
  • Ensure all preventive measures are inclusive and accessible.
  • Deliver specific protective measures for persons with disabilities.
  • Disaggregate surveillance data by disability, sex and age when possible.
  • Consult persons with disabilities and their representative organizations when assessing impacts and developing response plans.
  • Ensure that any adaptations to the usual delivery mechanisms of humanitarian assistance consider persons with disabilities.
